We have a disaster. The AX Client is inaccessible and the Enterprise Portal doesn’t serve the correct pages (it seems like a new SharePoint Installation…)
This is something that has already happen several times and it’s time to blog it. First, let me explain the current installation:
- -2 AOS Servers (everyone in a different machine)
- AFS Server (another machine)
- Enterprise Portal (SharePoint 2010 in another machine)
- AX Client (another machine)
- Databases (SharePoint and AX Database in another machine)
Searching on the Internet about this issue, it’s possible to locate some solutions using webservices. But my colleague Sergio Carrillo Villa and me found an easier way to solve this: get the currency exchange rates directly from the European Central Bank Web, processing the XML file that the ECB provides every weekday at the afternoon.
These XML file is on the URL: http://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/eurofxref/eurofxref-daily.xml and has the following format:
Document Handling is very useful to attach files related to AX data to forms. It’s possible to add data at any form.
